Scodix demonstrates Ultra Pro press at DSCOOP conference

The Scodix Ultra Pro digital enhancement press

Scodix is featuring the innovative Scodix Ultra Pro digital enhancement press at this week’s DSCOOP annual conference in Washington DC. Scodix, a Platinum sponsor of the event, will hand out samples of commercial and folding carton projects in what will be the company’s largest DSCOOP exhibit ever.

At the DSCOOP Partner Sessions Scodix is also conducting a special panel titled ‘Outstanding Sales with Scodix SENSE’, where customers share their experience from implementing Scodix, and the effects this has had on their business. Users will showcase their most profitable digital enhancement applications, and discuss how Scodix systems have driven new revenue streams and built bridges to whole new customer bases.

The production speed and features of the innovative Scodix Ultra Pro digital enhancement press are ideal for commercial print service providers, folding carton packaging converters, and web-to-print shops.

Engineered with the speed and quality of the Scodix Ultra (up to 1,250 B2+ sheets per hour), the new Scodix Ultra Pro system is additionally equipped with controls enabling operators to switch, rapidly and easily, between multiple polymers for varying applications and effects. Scodix Ultra Pro is also the first system to feature Scodix SPOT a polymer that produces a spot varnish for short runs. Scodix SPOT digitally recreates the effect of traditional flat varnishes, without the setup time or mess.

The Scodix Ultra Pro also enables a single operator to run the system, and maintenance can be carried out automatically and remotely. With set up requiring minimal time, design and implementation of various enhancements is both user and production-friendly, while encouraging greater creativity.

As with all Scodix offerings, the Scodix Ultra Pro is based on the company’s Scodix SENSE technology, which includes:

  • Scodix RSP Technology to ensure pin-point enhancement positioning and registration;

  • Scodix High Impact touch and feel to make print stand out;

  • Scodix 99 GU which delivers the highest level of gloss units attainable for printed materials;

  • Scodix Variable Density that allows for variable polymer thickness – all in a single pass

The addition of Scodix SPOT and the union of these technologies enable the Scodix presses to deliver results that meet and exceed the critical production requirements of even the most demanding commercial PSPs or folding carton converters. The Scodix Ultra Pro supports countless applications for paper and flat media, including stationery, book covers, premium packaging, marketing and promotional tools, greeting cards, and photo albums.
