Test drive a tool kit to read the print-future crystal ball

Joan Grace, Printing Industries

Printing Industries is developing a tool kit for printing businesses to help them to shape their enterprises for the future. In order to ensure the materials are relevant and useful to printing companies the industry body is looking for companies who are prepared to invest three quarters of a day to be part of a trial workshop.

Joan Grace, general manager, Education, Training and Employment at Printing Industries, says enterprises which participate will benefit by getting free access to the tools in a facilitated workshop that will help them to identify areas for improvement, innovation and growth.

The workshop will be delivered by innovation and training specialist Tess Julian from Ratio, who is experienced in assisting organisations address their challenges with growth, productivity and employee engagement. She has developed the tool kit on behalf of Printing Industries. Free test drives will be held in Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane and Sydney during May.

The tools include both benchmarking and business improvement techniques. Some of the tools are designed for use as part of a planning meeting, others are survey tools and others are templates or forms to be completed by team members. Many of the tools are based on new approaches to enterprise strategy such as Design Thinking and Lean.

“The ultimate objective is to create more prosperous and sustainable businesses by, for example, identifying new market opportunities, different services and products, ways of improving productivity and creating a more skilled and agile workforce,” notes Joan Grace.

This initiative ispart of the ACCI Productivity Leadership Program. Further information about the program is available on their website.
