Bear Designs takes out NSW Wrap Master Challenge

The Bear Design team with sponsors' representatives

Following the success of the inaugural Australian Sign & Graphics Association (ASGA) national Wrap Master Challenge held last year, the event’s key sponsors Roland DG, 3M and Australian Visual Solutions (AVS) were enthusiastic for the event to become an annual one.

As a result, the first State final of the 2015 ASGA Wrap Master Challenge took place during the Visual Impact Expo at Sydney’s Olympic Park.

A totally new car livery had been designed by Nick Moss of Nick Moss Design using the 3M Envision Graphic Film. All sponsors had their logos incorporated in the final design and the cars looked quite spectacular at the end of the competitive wrap. At times there were over 50 people watching the wrap professionals at work and no doubt many tips on wrapping were taken away by the spectators.

Australian Visual Solutions provided the graphic film layout for the contestants and organised most of the technical support as well as the car hire.

Roland DG is again providing the outstanding first prize for the National Champion of a Roland SOLJET PRO4 XR-640 printer whilst Lamination System will give the second prize of a Sign Master 1600 Pro laminator. A 3M Bundle Pack is the third prize. The winners will be announced following the national final at Melbourne’s Visual Impact Expo in September.

Participating teams were Excel Visual Solutions: Nick Galwey, Tom Miller and Fabio Tavares; BearDesigns: Brett East, John Lopez and Marc Langford; and FunkyCar Skins: Mick Hart, Melanie Hart, and Nick Hart.

It was a closely contested wrap which Bear Designs completed in just over three hours with Excel Visual Solutions in second place followed by Funky Car Skins. After penalties were deducted by the judges Bear Designs team was declared the winner of the NSW final. They will now go to Melbourne in September to represent the state in the national final.
