A week before the opening of Visual Impact and PrintEx, Screen GP Australia is already celebrating with the receipt of three more orders for the Truepress Jet W3200UV flatbed UV printer.
The machine, built by Screen subsidiary Inca Digital in the UK, is taking the 3.2 metre flatbed world by storm as it delivers the highest quality at highest speed (150sqm/hr) in its class. Its productivity is further increased by using automated head cleaning and nozzle mapping, reducing maintenance downtime by up to 75%.
One Australian customer and two in New Zealand, through exclusive dealer Fujifilm New Zealand, have placed orders following trials and site inspections at the inaugural user, Flash Graphics in Sydney.
The Australian customer is Resolution Imaging of Melbourne’s Nunawading, an existing Screen flatbed user with a slower 1632UV, which will be traded-back. The new Truepress W3200 will be installed by the end of June. Resolution’s existing Screen flatbed can be seen keeping busy in a time-lapse video at www.resolutionimaging.com.au where it is easy to see the need for a higher speed machine.
The two New Zealand customers cannot be disclosed at this point in time but will be announced closer to the installation dates. Fujifilm New Zealand technicians will undergo further factory training with Inca Digital in the UK, on top of their existing knowledge as the worldwide distributor for the full range of Inca-branded machines.

A fifth W3200 is already in the country and will be exhibited at Visual Impact/PrintEx from May 13-15 on the Graphic Art Mart stand, our exclusive reseller in Australia.”
Screen’s Truepress Jet W3200UV comes in two versions, an 85 sqm/hr standard model and the HS 150 sqm/hr model. In-field upgrades up to 150 sqm/hr are offered. The machine features a moving ‘y-axis’ zoned vacuum bed, greatly reducing the footprint length. The ‘x-axis is normal transverse scanning by the print carriage but the whole print unit is fixed and does not move up-and-down the bed. Near photographic quality results are achieved using 14 Pl ink droplets yielding 1000dpi visual resolution. Wide gamut CMYK plus Lc, Lm and white inks are flexible and adhere to almost any surface and can be cut and finished without cracking.
“We feel we are on a real winner in the flatbed UV sector with this device,” says Scott. “Customers can replace two or even three existing 40-60sqm/hr machines with one W3200UV and still gain higher productivity. A roll option will be released at Fespa Germany right after PrintEx.”
