The famous World of Wearable Art (WOW) fashion show got a boost from a wine label from Auckland’s Panprint that in itself had a WOW! factor for Pride In Print Judges. So much so they were rated world-class.

The Brancott Estate World of Wearable Art Campaign wine labels carried off the Promotional Print Category of the Awards with their extraordinary and classy finish – much like the garments that grace the catwalk of the WOW event.

The sets of labels feature foiling and 'high build' embossing, giving them a tactile feel to attract the eye and touch of the wine buyer.

Judges praised the crisp and clean approach to grab the buyer’s attention. “A wine label has to be eye-catching in order to have instant appeal to the customer. It is what makes them stop in the aisle, reach for the bottle and begin to browse. It is the label that gives the wine producer that competitive advantage in the marketplace.”

Senior judge John Thorrat went further: “This is an outstanding label, state of the art. The care and attention to detail is outstanding. Anyone who has had anything to do with labels knows how hard they can be. And anyone would be proud of producing this. I for one don’t know who could match this, even on the world stage.”

Panprint general manager Chris Wise described his firm’s ongoing success at the Pride In Print Awards as a “great credential”.

“We pride ourselves on quality. We have areal ethos on getting work out the door to a high standard as opposed to just getting work out the door,” he said. “We talk about the Pride In Print Awards as part of our marketing literature and it is a great thing for our customers to know and understand.”

Wise said Panprint, which has previously won the Supreme Award, also takes great pride in the intricate touches it is able to bring to its work.

“We had a new investment three years ago on one of our RCS presses which enables us to provide those services and embellishments to our customers which is testament to the award tonight really.

“This is a great event, we’re really happy with how it went tonight and we will continue with the Pride In Print Awards for years to come.”
