New event celebrates New Zealand print industry training graduates

Graduation Medals to be presented to Graduates

2015 will see the commencement of the inaugural PrintNZ Training Graduation Ceremonies to celebrate those in the print industry that have completed a training programme over the past year.

Graduates will be recognised by their industry peers in front of fellow employees, employers and family and friends when PrintNZ host the Graduations ceremonies in Christchurch and Auckland in April.

All industry personnel are invited to celebrate with graduates – some of whom will be further recognised as Apprentice of the Year semi-finalists and finalists. Announcements will also be made on the training company of the year, workplace trainer of the year and Diploma in Print Management trainee of the year.

“Our industry requires a unique skill set to produce the broad range of products we deliver and this is a valuable opportunity to celebrate the achievements of the people and the businesses that will ensure print remains a strong and vibrant industry” said Ruth Cobb, general manager of PrintNZ.

The first of the Graduations will be held in Christchurch in the Cardboard Cathedral commencing at 4.00 pm on April 16. The second graduation will take place the following week on April 22 at the Heritage Hotel, central Auckland. At the end of each of the graduations there will be an opportunity for photographs with graduates and to mix and mingle with industry friends.

Special presentations will be made to:

  • The Diploma in Print Management Award finalists and winner

  • The top training company and workplace trainer of 2014

  • The top 12 apprentices across all programmes and the announcement of the five Apprentice of the Year finalists, who will then attend the prestigious Pride In Print Awards on May 1 in Wellington where the Apprentice of the Year will be announced.
