Fuji Xerox paid tribute to the Australian winners of the 7th annual PIXI (Printing Innovation with Xerox Imaging) Awards at a celebratory dinner in Victoria on December 3. The annual competition recognises the most outstanding and innovative users of Fuji Xerox solutions in the Asia-Pacific region including Australia, China (including Hong Kong and Taiwan), Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand. 

Australian print providers dominated the 2014 PIXIs with a total of 11 awards being received by four Australian-based firms out of the 21 different award categories. This year, Fuji Xerox received more than 200 entries across 20 application-based and industry categories. Comprising print quality, appropriate use of digital technology, innovation, business effectiveness and overall aesthetics, the set of criteria focused the panel of judges’ evaluation on both the quality of the design and the documents’ ability to achieve the desired result.

Blue Star Group-Victoria was awarded first place in the ‘Leaflets & Flyers’ category,and several 2nd and 3rd place positions in categories such as ‘Catalogues’ and ‘Card & Invitations’. Condor Printing Pty Ltd too took away two awards achieving 2nd place in ‘Brochures’ and 1st place in ‘Cards & Invitations’. Two entire categories – ‘Digital & Offset Together’ and ‘Cards & Invitations’ were won entirely by Australian firms, that is, Blue Star Group-Victoria, Condor Printing Pty Ltd and Enviro Print Group.

Five times PIXI award recipient, Integrated Mailing Services, continued its winning streak by taking out the ‘Multi-piece Production’ category. The company received this year’s award for its end-to-end re-engineering of the Melbourne Racing Club’s 2014/15 racing season membership packs. The project saw Integrated Mailing Services deliver personalised letters, cards, and dining vouchers (printed on digital silk) for the Club’s new and existing members; and a high-touch redesign of 'Clip Clop Club' where children of members received cards with colours and images tailored to their names and gender.
