Fujifilm has announced the recruitment of Ashley Playford. He moves from a technical production role with Sony DADC into sales and support as NSW account manager with Fujifilm Graphic Systems.

With six years in production management, Playford has gained excellent all-round knowledge of  digital and offset processes, managing a newly-established digital division and ultimately taking management responsibility for all prepress and digital production in his former role.

Prior to this, Playford was on his gap year, landing in Sydney and working as a casual Mac operator with PMP and Avarto. He was apprenticed at UK printer GI Direct and Leicester College and passed his City & Guilds in Printing & Graphic Communications. He also holds a Diploma in Management from TAFE and has recently completed the Leadership Essentials course with the Australian Institute of Management.

Commenting on Playford’s recruitment to Fujifilm, national sales manager Paul Budgen says: “Ashley is the perfect candidate for us as his experience covers all of the areas where we operate:  wide format, digital printing, prepress and offset. I believe our customers will be impressed with his practical knowledge and how he can help them improve efficiencies.”

Playford describes himself as: “A keen and eager individual who loves a challenge and will go over and beyond my duties in order to see projects through to completion. I believe innovation is key to any businesses success whilst respecting established procedures and methods. I very much look forward to applying my technical and production experiences in my new role with Fujifilm.” He enjoys snowboarding, working out at the gym and is an aspiring kite-surfer.
