Fuji Xerox Versant 80 casts a small, yet power-packed, footprint

The Versant 80 is now available from Fuji Xerox Australia

Fuji Xerox Australia has announced local availability of the Versant 80 press, a new colour production printer for the entry production market. The printer utilises the professional printing technologies employed in the Versant  2100 Press – an upper-class model launched in May 2014 – while achieving a body size approximately half its width.

The latest release will allow customers to manage a range of jobs from specialised professional printing requirements to additional on-demand functionalities such as print from USB and banner printing.

The press handles a wide range of paper thicknesses, from as thin as 52 gsm to the robust 350 gsm. Regardless of whether using uncoated or coated paper, the press delivers efficient 80-pages-per-minute productivity thanks to its compact belt roll fuser used commonly in the Versant series. This technology enables printing on a variety of items such as envelopes.

The advanced Simple Image Quality Adjustment feature, improved from the existing Color C75 press, reduces operator intervention while enabling high quality prints. For example, adjusting front to back registration for double-sided printing can be completed simply by scanninga printed chart through the document feeder. Adjusting alignment takes less than half the time required by the Color C75, reducing the operator’s burden while maximising the printer’s availability.

The device features digital image processing technologies, which were newly equipped in the Versant 2100 press, to realise an image quality close to offset printing. Ultra HD resolution enabled by the high-speed data transmission technology can render large volume / high resolution data from the server to the press at a raster image processing resolution of 1,200 dpi. Additionally, the press offers enhanced representation of gradations, highlights, and shadows, while Fuji Xerox's Stochastic screen with improved smoothness avoids moiré.

The Versant 80 press will be launching with a choice of three digital front ends and feature support for the Fuji Xerox Free Flow Print Server, an integrated EFI Fiery and an external EFI Fiery print server. It also offers an array of post-press options for flexible finishing such as booklet making, stapling, hole punching and folding.
