Self Promotion award-winning entry from Metropolis

 

Australian entries to the 7th annual PIXI (Printing Innovation with Xerox Imaging) Awards topped the list of 43 winners announced by Fuji Xerox Asia Pacific with 13 awards, followed closely by Thailand with 11. Multiple awards were won by Blue Star Group – Victoria (5), Enviro Print Goup (3) Condor Printing (2), while Integrated Mailing Service, Metropolis Inc and Print Bound each bagged one.

The annual competition recognizes the most outstanding and innovative users of Fuji Xerox solutions in the Asia-Pacific region including Australia, China (including Hong Kong and Taiwan), Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand. 

This year, Fuji Xerox received more than 200 entries across 20 application-based and industry categories. Comprising print quality, appropriate use of digital technology, innovation, business effectiveness and overall aesthetics, the set of criteria focused the panel of judges’ evaluation on both the quality of the design and the documents’ ability to achieve the desired result.

The brochure produced by Image Quality LAB Co., Ltd, from Thailand for ‘M-Hotel’ won the Best in Show title, which is the highest accolade in the PIXI Awards, for achieving print quality close to that of offset printing.

“The quality and quantity of submissions to the 2014 PIXI Awards show the versatility of Fuji Xerox’s devices and solutions in enhancing business communications goals,” said Mike Braggins, senior manager of marketing communication, Fuji Xerox Asia Pacific. “By participating in the competition, our customers are not only winning accolades for their creativity in design, but also discovering new ideas to make their digital print pieces come alive to grow their business.”

This year, the submissions were evaluated by a judging panel made up of three independent judges from the industry including Paul Callaghan, publisher and chairman of the Asian Print Awards, and Major Wong Wing Kwong from Alpha Print in Singapore.

“Every year, the entries for PIXI Awards have never failed to bring new surprises compared to the preceding year,” said Alf Carrigan, a 50-year veteran in the print industry and a judge of PIXI Awards 2014. “This award shows the advancement of Fuji Xerox’s solutions and the maturing aptitude of their customers in achieving digitally-printed communications pieces.”   

Fuji Xerox submitted all entries (excluding those from Australia, which conducts the local National Print Awards) to the Asian Print Awards to provide an opportunity for PIXI winners to pit their pieces against other works in the region.
