Mark Andy shows Business Responsive Technology at Labelexpo

Digital Series integrated hybrid in-line platform

This year’s Labelexpo Americas will mark the global debut of Mark Andy’s Digital Series, the Performance Series with QCDC and fully servo models in the Rotoflex VSI and VLI ranges, all of which come under the umbrella of the company's new catchphrase – Business Responsive Technology.

The NEW Digital Series integrated hybrid in-line platform is the first true production-level digital solution of its kind. It has been designed to run high-quality jobs at unprecedented speeds of 76 mpm, producing even the most demanding jobs with complete confidence.

Plus, it’s been engineered to be highly configurable featuring high resolution six-colour UV ink jet printing (C, M, Y, K, O, V + White) with top-coating, fully integrated in-line flexographic printing modules including metallics, various converting options, cold foil and more.

Mark Andy claims this hybrid system architecture delivers the best total cost of operation of any digital solution available on the market.

The best-in-class Performance Series P7 will demonstrate high-end combination printing and features innovation-award winning technologies including ProLED curing and Quick Change Die Cut (QCDC) technology. The most technologically advanced offering in the newest line of Mark Andy presses, the P7 is the high-end, efficient solution for the most complex print applications. Multiple servos accommodate more functions at each print station and the independent web pacing allows enhanced web tension management over traditional flexo presses.

Integral to the success of the machine is the simplicity of the print station design, guaranteeing consistency and accuracy, shift-to-shift and day-to-day. Additional advantages over traditional presses include short web paths and minimal ink usage requirements resulting in waste savings up to 50% and fast changeover times for increased productivity.

The Mark Andy QCDC technology is a completely new die cut station design that removes the bottleneck of long die cut changeovers and slower matrix stripping speeds. The unique cassette and cart combination allow the operator to load the die off-line, then conveniently load it into the die station without the use of a hoist.

The Rotoflex VLI is a premier inspection, slitting and rewind system with expanded capabilities for more advanced applications and high-speed production. It is ideal for film, film packaging and other tension-sensitive materials. The VLI can be configured to meet a full range of applications and substrates. The VSI series of high speed inspection, slitting and rewinding machines have integrated the latest web transport – eDrive – web inspection and finishing technologies. These systems continually improve machine performance and enhance product quality.

"Daily demonstrations will highlight these Business Responsive Technologies which offer sustainable, quality solutions that deliver the most productivity for your day-to-day operations," says Ian Guanaria of Aldus Engineering, the ANZ representative for Mark Andy and Rotoflex.
