Konica Minolta to grow market share with new national sales director

Konica Minolta Australia has promoted its general manager of production printing, David Procter, to the newly created position of national sales director.  

Dr David Cooke, managing director at Konica Minolta Business Solutions Australia, said: “We have created this role to drive optimal performance from each of the State branches and from our national accounts, Government,  Education and commercial verticals as well as maintaining a strong interest with the production sales teams. We have appointed David specifically for the strong leadership and energy he can bring to the sales function. He has an excellent grasp of the benefits our customers seek from print and workflow solutions, a skill that will be critical to the way we move forward.”

Konica Minolta Business Solutions Australia bucked market trend in the last financial year, increasing sales revenues. Dr David Cooke continues: “Last year, we doubled our sales revenue for software and services. We also registered record hardware sales results, which defied industry trends. We’re focused on making Konica Minolta an agile and responsive business partner, in a technological sense and in terms of the way we service our customers.”

In his previous role as general manager of production printing David Procter has contributed significantly to the company, driving the sales of production printing equipment, and establishing its position in a very competitive market. He has nearly thirty years’ experience in the industry and will now be called upon to share this across the whole sales force.

David Procter commented: “It’s a wonderful opportunity and I will take on the challenge of increasing our market share insectors where optimising business processes is a priority. I’ve always believed we need the best people and it will be my role to provide the motivation and enthusiasm to continue the growth strategy.”

The newly created role has an important part to play in Konica Minolta’s recently launched business growth plan – Transform 2016 – which sets out how the company will provide customer-centric innovation and services.
