Cygnet Publications' Textile Image magazine, assisted by
industry partners, have inaugurated The Great Aussie T-shirt Competition to
promote excellence in design and production of t-shirts in both the screen and
digital printing sectors of the Australian textile industry. Organisers say
t-shirts were chosen as promotional device because it represents a portion of
the textile market that is instantly recognisable through its high profile
artwork, global branding and public accessibility.
“T-shirts are like wearing your own slice of fine art, they
really do showcase some of the most creative imagery and potent messages of our
time.” said Stan Kilpin, publisher of Image Magazines.
The competition commences with a launch in the April edition
of Textile Image magazine and will culminate when the winners are announced at
Visual Impact Image Expo exhibition in Sydney in September 2012.
Textile Image magazine is partnering with Sydney TAFE,
Screen Printing Department, to provide multiple marketing and publicity
opportunities through its various industry publications including Digital Image
Magazine, Image Online News, direct email marketing bursts plus high profile
exposure at Visual Impact Image Expo in the Gold Coast and Sydney exhibitions
during 2012.
The competition will encourage industry members to submit
their best t-shirt entries into predetermined categories based on two
production methods, screen and digital and further classified into printing on
light or dark material.
