The PrintNZ Conference and NZ Pride In Print Awards will run concurrently on June 28-29, providing industry with the opportunity to learn, network and celebrate in one location. The decision to combine the two major industry events was made in response to industry feedback received during the PrintNZ consultation last year.
Running the events alongside each other allows businesses to save on travel and accommodation costs and the additional expense and inconvenience of having staff away from the workplace, while allowing attendees to participate in the industry’s two major events.
The PrintNZ Conference will deliver two days of business sessions on June 28-29 at the Heritage Hotel in Auckland, with the NZ Pride In Print Awards taking place on the evening of June 29.
Conference planning is well underway, including a line-up of top quality speakers on a range of key issues affecting businesses in the industry.
Keynote speakers will share their knowledge in the streams of business, technology and sales ensuring there is something for everyone. Similar to previous events the conference will feature a series of practical workshops in each stream allowing speakers to take a more in-depth look at a particular issue, provide advice and provoke discussion. These workshops provide participants with an understanding of the topic and a ‘tool-kit’ of knowledge and practical ideas to take back to the workplace.
PrintNZ received excellent feedback about previous conference speakers, with one or two due to make a return in 2012. One such speaker, Ambrose Blowfield, is a highly sought after presenter and trainer in the area of business marketing and sales. His take on the area of boosting sales and driving business performance in this area can only benefit those who attend his session.
PrintNZ has also secured the services of Dr. Malcolm Keif, a professor in the graphic communication department of the California Polytechnic State University. With more than 25 years of experience, Dr Keif is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and contributor to numerous industry publications. His session will introduce the various forms of printed electronics and explain common technologies used for production, unique production challenges and how you can transition your business to produce printed electronics in the future.
The Christchurch earthquake has brought disaster management into the spotlight. The conference will feature a workshop session on disaster management and related insurance issues. This workshop will also look at the direct experiences and knowledge gained by PrintNZ Members affected by the Canterbury quake.
The PrintNZ Conference Dinner will take place on June 28 and will incorporate the PrintNZ Training Awards celebrating the top apprentices of our industry. The overall Apprentice of the Year will be announced the following evening at the NZ Pride In Print Awards.
