Narrow Web Clean Machine


The Narrow Web Clean Machine (NWCM) is specifically designed for the Narrow Web processing industry. The NWCM can he installed on any line to remove dust and other loose contaminations from the substrate. Keeping the product clean improves yield and greatly reduces downtime, as dust accumulation is controlled throughout the line.


A special elastomer roller runs in contact with the web, penetrating the boundary layer. This roller lifts the contamination down to 1 micron and transfers it to a specially engineered adhesive roll. Antistatic bars are incorporated to ensure static is eliminated and dust is not re-attracted to the cleaned web.


Dust causes downtime and rejects so the Teknek Narrow Web Clean Machine provides maximum cleaning and a cost effective solution to this contamination problem.


The NWCM can be integrated into the printing line, taking up minimum space to give superior cleaning performance for clear on clear stock, vinyl material and standard label stock. It can be fitted as a standard on a new press or as a retrofit to any existing narrow web press.

XCH Series

Airborne dust lint, and other forms of dry unattached contamination are major causes of scrap and lost production time In the conversion of today's high tech materials. Substantial increases in yield are possible by using Teknek's range of XCH Contact Clean Machines.

Modern manufacturing requires the removal of small particles before the critical process where in the past they were not considered a risk. The design of the innovative XCH, "Just-in Time" cleaner, is based on an elastomer roller rotating in contact with the substrate. This high surface energy material removes the particulate contamination from the substrate and transfers it to a high coat weight, reverse wound adhesive roll and stores it. When the outer layer of the adhesive is covered, it is simply removed and discarded. It can also be used for analysis and assessment of the source of the contamination.


The web rotates the rollers. This means that there is no scratching of the film, no requirement to match speeds with motors, and no chemicals. Having been cleaned by the roller, the web passes through anti-static bars to eliminate any charge in the material.


As the cleaning roller makes physical contact with the web


surface it penetrates the boundary layer and therefore removes particles down to 1 micron.


The XCH is very compact and can be configured for both single and double sided cleaning at any angle. It can be situated in line with most coating and laminating processes. Machines can be configured with a cassette mechanism which allows side access for carrying out maintenance.


The XCH series is available in two ranges. The machine range is determined by speed, width and cleaning position.
