KODAK SPOTLESS Technology allows spot colors to be reproduced withprocess colors rather than special inks. With SPOTLESS Software,printers can reduce press downtime and increase efficiency, whiledesigners and print buyers can specify a greater variety of spot colorsto enhance creative projects.
With a choice of four-, five-,six-, or seven-color process builds, SPOTLESS Technology expands thecolor gamut within a flexible and scalable workflow. Four-colorSPOTLESS Technology uses CMYK process builds to simulate spot colorsthat are within the CMYK gamut. Five-, six-, and seven-color SPOTLESSTechnology uses an extended process color set to reach spot colorsoutside the CMYK gamut. It allows printers to select their own, unique,customized ink sets, specifically formulated for their press andcustomer requirements.
Reduce press down time, increase uptime efficiency:spot colors are simulated using screen tint builds of the base processcolors. As a result, washups between jobs are unnecessary, and downtimeis significantly reduced.
Avoid multiple passes or extended multi-unit presses:with one ink set providing a wide color gamut, jobs do not requiremultiple runs through the press, nor the use of extended multi-unitpresses.
Gang up jobs, enable shorter runs:the ability to deliver spot color value with extended process colorbuilds allows printers with SPOTLESS Technology to combine jobs thattraditionally required separate print runs.
