Women in Print, the networking event specifically for women in the New Zealand printing industry, features Joanne Taylor, founder and editor of Latitude magazine as well as winner of the supreme award at the 2015 Enterprising Rural Women Awards. She is a mother of five, a farmer’s wife and an active member of her community – come along and find out how she manages it all.
Her presentation is entitled ‘If you can dream it, you can do it’. She will talk about how she came to publish her own magazine and the journey she has been on with Latitude. “We all have as much time as Einstein – it’s how we choose to use it that makes all the difference,” she says.
Joanne Taylor, who along with her husband Deane run an intensive arable farm in Mid Canterbury, started the magazine in 2007. She recognised a gap in the market for high quality, positive, local magazines and the company has grown to meet this demand. Now in the Latitude stable are Canterbury Bride and the latest venture, South Island Bride, an annual publication to be launched in November.
