The first technical dinner of the Australian Institute of Packaging (AIP) NSW Branch, in conjunction with the SPE, will feature speakers from Milliken Design and BASF Australia.

Craig Benson, country manager for Australia and New Zealand, Milliken Design, Inc, will be speaking about how additives can improve the consistency, quality and speed of running polyolefins in various packaging applications. Running various colours affect process set up and various additives can assist stiffness but usually have a down side on impact performance. New products on the market allow you to have the best of both worlds.

Rowan Williams, business director, Plastics, BASF Australia, will be discussing Sustainable Packaging. He will talk about trends in this area and products offerings available. BASF’s global position in the development of biodegradable and compostable polymers is within Willilams’ remit and is a key interest both professionally and personally.
